As the Holidays approach most people's thoughts retreat into memories of the past and rush off into expectations of future events. This push and pull of crashing through time can create anxiety and unsettled emotions.
Even when the memories and expectations bring happy thoughts to mind, it can be jarring to jerk back and forth through time and away from the present moment. If you find yourself lost in the past or floating away in thoughts of what is "sure" to come... take a deep breath and come back to the moment.
